Should the government increase or decrease military spending?

Sweden’s military is trash, but normally I believe in strong militaries.

Sweden should join NATO and adjust its military spending to align with NATO protocols.

The whole point of peace is not increasing the military budget but instead investing in alternatives that would address global issues in a way that doesnt hurt anyone.

Increase to maintain a strong national defense, and/or if there is a problem that we need to respond to ongoing conflicts/emergency situations. But current spending should be adjusted by reducing wasteful spending to ensure the budget is spent more wisely, and provide our troops with better pay and benefits.

Always make sure our troops have what they need to do their jobs effectively. Never decrease in a way that undermines their ability to do so, but only increase for the sake of our troops having what they need to keep doing their jobs at peak efficiency.

Increase, and better prioritize mental health. Often, military members' psychiatrists are told not to diagnose them with conditions they have, because then the government would be required to pay to help them with the disorder, and the budget isn't big enough for that.

Decrease, but an audit to find what programs are useless should be conducted and defund those like LCS. Programs that are vital to national security should continue to be fully funded. All military branches should be budgeted to their need and not just given the same amount.
